True, but it can be lowered to the point that you no longer have hypertension with some everyday changes. Lose weight if you are overweight, stop smoking if you smoke, eat less salt if you have hypertension, exercise daily even if you are not overweight and eat healthy foods. Lots of veggies & fruits and lay off fried foods and fats. Limit meats to healthy meats like fish and chicken to avoid putting on excessive weight.
