What kind of computer courses can a student of B.E. Electronics and Communication do?

I am a first year B. E. student in Electronics and Communication.I am very interested in computer related field. I have heard that with a few computer courses, a Elec. & Comm. engineer can make it into the computer field and thus improve his area of work.
