I am 18 years old and I have taken flagyl for bv 3 times in 6 months and it keeps coming back?

I do not think that the medicine works honestly I have been told that the medicine kills all bacteria and therefore could furthur cause an imbalance. I have heard of a otc treatment called vh essentials it is a pathic treatment that encourages the growth of good bacteria while treating the bv. i am a little iffy about this but if i go to the doctor all she is going to do is write me another prescription for flagyl which will not work. What can I do? Will eating yogurt help? I need serious answers only. Do not tell me to douche becuase that can cause complications. Please i need help.
