My estranged father (who is a convicted -offender) is attempting to contact me?

I myself as a mother and also someone who was also ually abused could never put myself or my children in that situation. He was convicted and served his time but that doesn't mean he has changed. Not being rude but why in the world would you even consider having him in your life and around your children?
